What the development price includes
Alongside the agreed product features, DreamTech includes Telebirr integration, staff training and practical launch preparation. Telebirr integration carries no extra integration charge; any payment-provider transaction fees follow the provider’s terms.
We guide the Telebirr application and integration process, help prepare the required business details, and test the payment flow. Follow our Telebirr integration process guide.
100% ownership after full payment
After full payment, your company receives 100% ownership of the delivered product. We hand over the product and the agreed technical materials so your team can operate it and continue with in-house development.
Training is included. We help your team understand how to use the product and the administrative tools before handover.
Two years of product guidance, guaranteed at no extra charge: after development and handover, you can ask questions about the delivered product, its operation and how your in-house team can work with it. This helps you take over and use the system without paying extra for product questions.
Optional SLA if you want us to manage the product
You can manage the product with your own team or continue with DreamTech through a separate service-level agreement (SLA). SLA payments are separate from development.
SLA packages range from 25,000–125,000 ETB per month, depending on the project and your requirements. Options range from 4 hours per week to a dedicated team. The chosen services, responsibilities and response expectations are set out in your SLA quotation.
The included two-year guidance covers product questions after handover. An optional SLA provides agreed hands-on maintenance, ongoing work and management when you want DreamTech to take those responsibilities.
What else should you budget for?
Ask your developer to separate design, mobile apps, backend and admin tools, testing, integrations and launch setup. Also confirm who pays for app-store accounts, hosting, SMS, maps and support after handover.
Payments: Telebirr integration is included in development at no extra integration charge. We guide merchant registration, the settlement-account requirements, provider approval and testing. The backend also needs to verify payments and handle failed or pending transactions. Our Telebirr and Chapa guide explains the work; the Telebirr starting guide covers the documents and product choice.
Get a useful quote
Tell us which app above is closest, who will use it, what they must do at launch, and whether you need Android, iOS, payments or an existing-system connection. We can then price the first release and show the running costs separately.
Why similar apps can have different prices
The app category gives you a starting range. The quote depends on how much your first release must do. Compare the same users, screens and workflows when asking different teams for a price.
| Cost factor | A smaller first release | What adds work |
|---|---|---|
| Users and roles | One customer journey and an admin view | Separate seller, driver, agent or partner apps and permissions |
| Platforms | One agreed mobile platform | Android and iOS delivery, device testing and store submissions |
| Payments | Telebirr integration included | Additional providers or more complex refund, reconciliation and settlement workflows |
| Integrations | An app with its own backend | Connections to ERP, inventory, maps, SMS or an existing database |
| Operations | A clear online workflow | Offline use, live tracking, dispatch, complex approvals or multiple branches |
For example, a shop’s app might need a product catalogue, checkout, order status and an admin tool. A marketplace also needs seller onboarding, seller permissions and order allocation. Both are e-commerce apps, but they require different amounts of work.
Plan the first-year budget
Separate the cost of building the app from the cost of operating it. Ask for a quote against your expected users, transactions, storage and support needs.
One-time work
- Design, mobile development, backend and admin tools
- Initial integrations and data import, if needed
- Testing, included launch setup and staff training
Operating costs
- Hosting, storage, backups and monitoring
- SMS, maps, payment services or AI usage where applicable
- App-store account fees and an optional SLA for managed maintenance
First-year budget = agreed development price + applicable third-party fees + annual charges + 12 months of monthly operating costs + any optional SLA.
Telebirr integration, training and practical launch setup are included in development. Mark included services so you do not count them twice. Usage-based fees should be estimated from expected activity, and annual charges should be added once rather than multiplied by 12.
Choose what must work at launch
Start with one complete customer journey. For an ordering app, that could be browse → order → payment confirmation → fulfilment → order status. Include the admin tools your team needs to complete that journey.
- Required at launch: the tasks customers and staff need to complete the main service, including failed or cancelled transactions.
- Later releases: optional features that can wait until you have feedback, such as loyalty tools or additional service categories.
- Acceptance: agree how each task will be demonstrated and tested before handover.
A smaller release helps only when it still delivers the service properly. Keep the payment checks, permissions and operational tools needed for the agreed workflow.
Confirm the proposal and handover
Your proposal should list the apps and modules included, delivery milestones, payment schedule and acceptance criteria. Also record source-code access, ownership of store and hosting accounts, documentation, and who handles updates after launch.
Send your chosen app type, target users, required platforms, launch workflow and integrations through the inquiry form. DreamTech can use that brief to separate the first-release price from the operating budget.
